Step-by-Step Installation of Baja Designs LP4 Lights and Hidden Light Bar on the INEOS Grenadier

This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of installing two lighting accessories on your INEOS Grenadier: the Baja Designs LP4 lights and a hidden light bar. This guide covers the physical installation, leaving the wiring for another time.

Step 1: Remove the Bumper Covers

  1. Begin by removing the bumper covers from your INEOS Grenadier. These covers are secured with bolts that can be removed using a set of torx bits (commonly used throughout the Grenadier).
  2. Set the bumper covers aside after the bolts are removed.

Step 2: Remove the Lighting Bezel

  1. Unbolt the lighting bezel surrounding the headlights. If this is your first time, consider using a piece of cardboard to organize the bolts. Draw the front of the INEOS Grenadier on the cardboard and insert the bolts in the same pattern to remember their placement.
  2. Once the bolts are removed, the lighting bezel should pop off easily.

Step 3: Remove the Weather Stripping

  1. Carefully remove the weather stripping by using a panel-popping tool. The stripping is held in place by plastic push screws that should pop out easily.
  2. Avoid pulling the weather stripping too hard to prevent tearing.

Step 4: Detach the Bumper Assembly

  1. Unscrew all visible bolts securing the bumper assembly to the front of your INEOS Grenadier.
  2. Support the bumper using a stool, bucket, or jack stand to avoid putting strain on the sensor wires attached to it.

Step 5: Remove the Grille

  1. Once the lighting bezel and bumper are removed, you can access the grille. There will be bolts hidden by the lighting bezel that need to be unscrewed. Remove them carefully.
  2. Additionally, there are a few plastic push pins at the top of the grille. Loosen the small plastic screws to release these pins, and the grille will pop off easily.

Step 6: Modify the Grille for Hidden Light Bar Installation

  1. For the hidden light bar, you will need to make slight modifications to the back of the grille. Use a set of zip tie nippers or similar cutting tools to trim away excess plastic, creating space for the light bar to sit flush.
  2. Trim carefully, focusing on the center area of the grille to accommodate the size of the light bar.

Step 7: Install the Hidden Light Bar

  1. Place the hidden light bar above the radiator area of the INEOS Grenadier. Make sure it sits flush with the grille.
  2. If necessary, grind down a few millimeters of material from the grille to ensure the light bar sits level. Use a flap disc grinder or a blade to do this, and clean off any plastic debris once done.
  3. Sand the area to smooth out any rough edges.

Step 8: Attach the Light Bar Brackets

  1. Use the provided Owl brackets instead of the default brackets that come with the light bar. Attach the brackets to the light bar using the tamper-resistant Torx screws included in the kit.
  2. Ensure the brackets are securely attached but leave some adjustability for final positioning.

Step 9: Install the Baja Designs LP4 Lights

  1. Begin by removing the factory lights (if still installed) from the INEOS Grenadier. Use a Torx T25 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the factory lights in place.
  2. Place the LP4 lights in the brackets. Ensure that the lenses with striations are at the bottom, and the clear lenses are at the top.
  3. Use shorter Allen key head bolts to secure the lights into place, especially for tighter spaces near the bracket.
  4. Once the lights are positioned, hand-tighten the bolts before final adjustments.

Step 10: Reattach the Grille and Test Fit

  1. After both the LP4 lights and the hidden light bar are installed, reattach the grille to your INEOS Grenadier.
  2. Ensure that the light bar is aligned properly. Look from the side to confirm that the bar is either flat or angled slightly downward.
  3. Test fit the grille to make sure it fits over the installed lights and bar without any issues.

Step 11: Tighten Everything

  1. Once the lights and grille are in place, tighten all screws and bolts to secure the components. Ensure everything is snug, but be cautious not to overtighten screws, especially those going into plastic parts.

Step 12: Reinstall the Bumper and Bezel

  1. Reattach the bumper assembly, ensuring that the sensor wires are connected and everything is properly aligned.
  2. Reinstall the lighting bezel using the screws you removed earlier.

Step 13: Test the Lights

  1. Before completing the reassembly, start your INEOS Grenadier and test the lights.
  2. Check the daytime running lights and off-road lights to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  3. If everything works, proceed with reassembling the rest of the components.
