Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Baja Designs LP4 Lights and Hidden Light Bar on the INEOS Grenadier

Installing lighting accessories such as the Baja Designs LP4 lights and a hidden light bar can greatly improve the off-road capabilities and appearance of your INEOS Grenadier. This guide will walk you through the installation process, focusing on the brackets and light placement without covering the wiring aspect.

Step 1: Prepare for Installation

  • Start by removing the INEOS Grenadier’s bumper covers. These are secured by bolts that you will need to remove using a set of torx bits, which are common on the Grenadier.
  • Set the bumper covers aside to access the lighting bezel and the other components you’ll be working with.

Step 2: Remove the Light Bezel

  • Unbolt the light bezel. If this is your first time doing this, you can make it easier by drawing a rough outline of the front of your INEOS Grenadier on a piece of cardboard. Poke holes in the cardboard and place the bolts through them to keep track of where each bolt belongs.

Step 3: Remove the Weather Stripping

  • Carefully remove the weather stripping by using a panel-popping tool. The weather stripping is held in place by plastic screws that pop out easily. Avoid pulling too hard to prevent tearing the weather stripping.

Step 4: Remove the Bumper Assembly

  • To remove the bumper assembly, first unscrew all visible bolts around the lighting assembly. Make sure to angle the assembly when pulling it out, as there is a lip that can catch on the way out.
  • Support the bumper on a stool or jack stand. Since sensor wires are connected to the bumper, avoid letting it hang and put unnecessary strain on these wires.

Step 5: Remove the Grille

  • Unbolt the grille by removing the bolts that were hidden by the light bezel. Also, remove any lower bolts that secure the grille. With all bolts removed, the grille should come off easily.

Baja Designs LP4 Light Installation

Step 6: Install the LP4 Brackets

  • Use the supplied brackets for mounting the Baja Designs LP4 lights. These brackets are specifically designed for the INEOS Grenadier grille and will provide a significant upgrade to your lighting output.
  • If your Grenadier still has its factory lights, you’ll need to remove them. Undo the four screws securing the factory light housing with a Torx T25 screwdriver.

Step 7: Add Spacers

  • To ensure a proper fit, place two plastic washers (spacers) on each side of the bracket. These spacers help align the LP4 lights since the factory mounting points are set back further.
  • Insert the longer hardware through the spacers and bracket, and secure it with a 7/16" wrench. Be sure not to overtighten.

Step 8: Install the LP4 Lights

  • Place the Baja Designs LP4 lights into the brackets, making sure they are facing the correct direction. The lenses with striations should be on the bottom, while the clear lenses should be on top.
  • Use the shorter Allen key head bolts provided for a more secure fit. These smaller bolts make it easier to mount the lights in the tight spaces near the bracket.
  • Tighten the bolts using an Allen key. Ensure that the lights are level as you tighten them to avoid misalignment.

Step 9: Attach the Outer Bezel

  • Reattach the outer bezel around the LP4 lights. Pay attention to the short and long sides of the bezel, as the short side with the bump should face the center of the INEOS Grenadier.
  • Secure the bezel by reinserting the screws you removed earlier. Do not overtighten the screws, as they go into plastic.

Installing the Hidden Light Bar

Step 10: Prepare for the Hidden Light Bar

  • The hidden light bar is installed above the radiator, making it a subtle yet effective lighting solution for your INEOS Grenadier.
  • Use the same process of removing the bumper and grille as described above to access the area for mounting the light bar.

Step 11: Mount the Hidden Light Bar

  • Secure the hidden light bar in place by bolting it to the pre-existing mounting points on your INEOS Grenadier. Make sure the light bar is centered and secure.

Reassembly and Final Steps

Step 12: Reinstall the Grille and Bumper

  • Once both the Baja Designs LP4 lights and hidden light bar are installed, it’s time to reassemble the INEOS Grenadier. Start by bolting the grille back in place, followed by the bumper assembly. Make sure all sensor wires are properly connected and supported.

Step 13: Test the Lights

  • Before fully securing everything, start your INEOS Grenadier and test the lighting to ensure everything works correctly. Check both the daytime running lights and off-road lights by flipping the switch.

Step 14: Finish Up

  • Once you’ve confirmed that the lights are functioning properly, reinstall the weather stripping and the outer bezel. Tighten all screws securely but avoid over-tightening, especially when dealing with plastic components.
