Step-by-Step Guide to Installing the Fox 2.0 ATS Race Adjustable Steering Stabilizer on the INEOS Grenadier

Installing a steering stabilizer on your INEOS Grenadier can significantly improve steering performance, especially for off-road conditions. The Fox 2.0 ATS steering stabilizer is an excellent choice due to its adjustability, allowing you to fine-tune the dampening based on your driving environment. Follow the steps below to install it on your INEOS Grenadier.

Step 1: Access the Steering System

  1. Safely position your INEOS Grenadier to allow you to access the underside of the vehicle.
  2. Locate the factory steering stabilizer bracket on the front suspension. This is where the new stabilizer will be installed.

Step 2: Remove the Old Steering Stabilizer (If Applicable)

  1. If your INEOS Grenadier has a factory steering stabilizer installed, remove it by unbolting the stabilizer from the track bar and the mounting points.
  2. If you off-road frequently and want better clearance, you may choose to trim off the old stabilizer’s bracket using a cut-off disc. This will prevent it from contacting rocks or other obstacles during off-road adventures. However, if you don’t anticipate heavy off-roading, trimming isn’t necessary.

Step 3: Install the Fox Steering Stabilizer Bracket

  1. Your Fox 2.0 ATS steering stabilizer comes with a universal track bar bracket designed to fit the track bar on your INEOS Grenadier.
  2. Attach the new bracket to the track bar. To do this:
    • Remove the bolt from the clamp of the track bar bracket.
    • Slide the bracket onto the track bar, positioning it where the old stabilizer was mounted.
    • Gradually tighten the bracket bolts, alternating sides to ensure even tension. Avoid overtightening, as the clamp is made of aluminum, which can strip if too much force is applied.

Step 4: Prepare the Steering Stabilizer for Installation

  1. The Fox 2.0 ATS stabilizer includes an adjustment clicker to control the dampening. Before installing, adjust it to your preferred setting:
    • Tighten the adjuster completely and then back it off by 14 clicks for an optimal balance between on-road and off-road performance.
  2. Retain the two metal bushings at the end of the stabilizer, as the factory bolt will pass through these.

Step 5: Mount the Steering Stabilizer

  1. Attach one end of the Fox steering stabilizer to the factory mounting point on your INEOS Grenadier. This is the same location where the original stabilizer was bolted in.
  2. Position the other end of the stabilizer to the newly installed track bar bracket.
    • You can choose whether to mount the stabilizer with the adjustment knob facing forward or backward. Fox recommends mounting it toward the rear to protect it from dirt and debris, but you may prefer to mount it forward for easier access to the adjustment knob.

Step 6: Tighten the Brackets and Bolts

  1. Once the stabilizer is in place, securely tighten all bolts, ensuring that the stabilizer is correctly aligned and mounted.
    • Be cautious not to overtighten, especially on the track bar bracket, as you are dealing with aluminum parts.
  2. Check for any excessive movement by manually moving the stabilizer after installation. It should be snug but not under strain.

Step 7: Test the Installation

  1. After installing the steering stabilizer, take your INEOS Grenadier for a test drive to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  2. Pay attention to the steering response and adjust the dampening setting if needed using the clicker.
    • If you feel the steering is too stiff or too loose, adjust the dampening accordingly by increasing or decreasing the number of clicks on the adjustment knob.

Step 8: Retorque the Bracket

  1. After driving your INEOS Grenadier for a short distance, return to the stabilizer and check the bracket bolts.
  2. Retorque the bolts if necessary, as they may loosen slightly after initial use.
